Kelly Hora, M.Ac. Dipl.Ac MS
Kelly Hora is a National Board Certified and WI State Certified acupuncturist specializing in Japanese and Five Element Acupuncture with a gentle touch. She holds a Master Degree (approx. 3000hours of training) in Acupuncture from the Traditional Acupunture Institute in Maryland. Kelly's patients receive acute care for their symptoms while learning how to prevent chronic illness and manage stress.
Acupuncture is well known for treating acute and chronic pain, and a variety of conditions. In addition,Kellyspecializes in emotional andmentalhealth, stress-relief,and rehabilitativecare. She uses acupuncture, gentle bodywork, and lifestyle education to assist the healing process. Kelly's work with anxiety, depression, trauma relief and addiction recovery has been widely recognized and compliments traditional psychotherapeutic and counseling work. She founded and coordinated the Madison Veteran's Project from 2006-2012 which offered free, community-style acupuncture to veterans and their families to help them alleviate the symptoms of acute stress and trauma.
In addition to her private practice, Kelly provides services at the UW Paul P. Carbone Comprehensive Cancer Center and is part of the UW Health Integerative Medicine Program. She is president of the Wisconsin Society of Certified Acupuncturists (WISCA), the state professional association for Acupuncture and Oriental medicine.
Prior to her career in acupuncture, Kelly earned her BA and MS degrees in Biology and worked as an ecologist throughout the US. Her interest in complimentary medicine began through her research in the conservation of medicinal plants. This background in science and research enables a truly integrative approach to healthcare bringing together contemporary western and asian medical systems.
